Memories by Simone Lapointe "When our grandfather passed away he was getting ready for a trip to Bonnyville. He had been visiting before. But our grandmother never came on account of her health. "At first when uncle Joseph came to Alberta, she was very worried thinking that he might be living with the Natives. "They were people of deep faith. Prayer had a very important place in our grandparents' lives. Grandpa would get up early so he could have an hour of prayer on his knees before rest would be up. "Their door was always open to anyone who would ask for food. At the table there was always an extra plate in case the poor would stop. On Sunday for lunch there was always many visitors, and their home was always open to all the priests in the surrounding area. "Grandma was a very good cook and she loved to do it. Her passtime was playing cards." (faxed to Lee Anne Pedersen 2008 April 21)
