That is where they took their strength, because it was a hard life. "At the end living in Beacon Hill Saskatchewan, in a nice log house, so clean and well kept. "They were very welcoming people, I remember. Memere killing a chicken on Saturday to make a large pot of soup in case someone will stop in. "That was their way of life for many years, people would stop for a meal or stay overnight. After what I heard it was not too often that they had a day without someone. "For many years they took care of one of their nieces, then a handicapped man, also a mentally handicapped young man. Years after they took in three young children. Their mother had died. "There was no priest for many years, no church. A priest used to travel from one place to the other, once a month. He had his room at our grandparents' place and would say mass for all the surrounding farmers or ranchers. "In the 40s they went to church on the Beacon Hill Reserve."
